Despite having watched too many episodes of Grand Designs we bravely embarked on building our dream retirement home as owner builders on our steeply sloping block in the Huon Valley. Adding to the challenge, in the early stages of the project my partner was still working interstate. Lucky for us we were referred to Tony Klapsis for support in the project management of our build. From our first meeting it was apparent that Tony’s easy and respectful manner assured me he was someone I would be comfortable working with. As a mature woman I highly value these qualities. We have completed a number of renovation projects in the past and had to deal with many overbearing egos. Tony’s breadth of experience in all phases of building, his knowledge of materials, his network of suppliers and tradespeople have all proved invaluable in the development of our project. He was extremely helpful and supportive in ensuring I gathered quotes in a timely fashion and engaging the multitude of trades and services required for building in modern times. Not least of all he tactfully guided me in the management of our budget, making sure I understood how to keep track of and anticipate the costs as the building progressed. As I have interacted with other professionals in the building trade in the course of our build I’ve discovered that Tony is highly regarded within the industry. I have no hesitation in recommending Tony if you are wise enough to engage a project manager.

When Tony Klapsis was recommended to me as a project manager I was at my wit’s end – one project manager had come and quoted and, after promising various start dates, never turned up; the heating engineer had done the same, and I was facing trying to do the whole thing myself from scratch. Tony arrived, looked it over, and returned with a budget and took the entire thing over. From that minute onwards I never had any stress at all. He found the tradesmen to do the job, he consulted with me over every aspect that needed consultation, he solved problems, he found replacements for people who cancelled at the last minute without fussing me, he went and sourced unusual materials himself, and if I wanted something changed he sorted that out as well. I didn’t have to lift a finger, and in the end the room that was being renovated was exactly as I had imagined it. He made this project a pleasure – in the end it’s his just as much as mine, because he saw the image in my mind and he made it happen. Truly, I can’t recommend him highly enough. I wouldn’t use anyone else now – because I know I can trust him to get it perfect.

I approached Klapsis & Associates earlier this year to help me to put together a retrospective planning application for a unit development in Lenah Valley, as I was based interstate the process required by the council seemed to be very daunting and almost impossible from my position.

When Tony came on board the process immediately became simple and straightforward. Tony quickly identified the issue’s and employed the right consultants to get the job done. Tony was extremely professional whilst being transparent and kept me constantly informed as to the progress of the application. All estimated costs were outlined at the start and there was no unexpected cost blow outs. I would have no hesitation in recommending Klapsis & Associates to anyone who needs a similar service.

We would just like to thank you for all your hard work you did while project managing our property in Sandy Bay Tasmania. As we were in country S.A, Whyalla we needed to have someone that had a network of professional people they could call on to complete the scope of work that needed to be performed at the house. We were certainly in good hands when you were recommended to us by not just one, but two people in the Real Estate, Building industry.

We had nothing to worry about from the get-go. You gathered quotes for us so we could make an informed decision about which trades to go with, you sent out schedules and emailed everyone working on the project to advise them of the timeframe, about tasks to be started along with a completion date, this showed us all  that we were on the same page, which in turn meant that tasks were competed in a timely manner. You went above and beyond your job description, ensuring everything was done to a high standard. Even after all the works were completed you went back to fix a door in the property that needed some tweaking, once you’d finished you sent me a short video of it closing correctly. Now that’s what we call service.

We can without reservation or hesitation recommend you with confidence to anyone wanting a project manager who is focused on getting the job done as closely to the timeframe and budget that is humanly possible. Once again Tony, thank you for all your hard work and the effort that you put into our renovations at our property. If we ever need another project manager we know who we will be contacting.

Kind regards

— Ally & Grant
